WHAT IS A PULMONOLOGIST?
A pulmonologist (chest disease specialist) is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the lungs and chest cavity. In addition to being fully trained in internal medicine, pulmonologists have had extensive training in the treatment of such diseases as asthma, emphysema, pneumonia, breathing disorders of sleep, lung cancer, bronchitis, influenza, and respiratory failure.

PULMONOLOGY AT MIMA
In addition to being board-certified in internal medicine as well as pulmonary diseases, many of MIMA's pulmonologists have pursued additional training. Dr. Amgott has additional board-certification in critical care medicine and extensive training and experience in sleep medicine. Dr. Ott holds additional board certifications in critical care medicine, and in undersea and hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Reddy is board-certified in critical care medicine and is Director of MIMA's Sleep Lab. Dr. Hung, board-certified in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases, joins MIMA from New York University.
