My name is Jose W. Ruiz. I was born and raised in Nicaragua. After completing my High School Education at Sales HS, I went on to College/Medical School at the Universidad de Nicaragua and graduated in 1970.
I did my surgical internship at the University of Connecticut and continued there for my residency in General Surgery, as well as Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery. I continued at University of Connecticut for two years, at which time I was an Assistant Professor of Academic Medicine.
In 1978, I moved to Melbourne, Florida with my family and had a solo practice for 22 years.
Aside from enjoying the practice of medicine, I like to travel, and play tennis and golf. My family consists of my wife, three grown children, two step children and 6 beautiful and bright grandchildren. I attend Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on a regular basis.
