Dr. Carlos Salup started private practice in Miami in 1985, after being Chief Resident at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He moved to Melbourne in 1991, and has been in private practice since then.
He is Board Certified in OB/GYN, a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
He recently became Assistant Professor of the University of Central Florida School of Medicine.
He was chairman of the Quality Assurance (QA) Committee for many years at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Salup specializes in advanced Laparoscopic surgery and Laparoscopic assisted vaginal Hysterectomy. He was one of the first gynecologists to do this advanced laparoscopic surgical procedure in Brevard County, which he has been performing since 1994.
He also specializes in leading advanced technologies that are done in the office , such as minimally invasive procedures done to decrease or eliminate abnormal or heavy vaginal bleeding (via Cryoablation or Thermal ablation). These office procedures are extremely well tolerated by the patients, along with an elective procedure for permanent sterilization called the ESSURE Technique.
Dr. Salup also practices general OB/GYN, and accepts new patients.
Aside from his dedication to medicine, he raced bicycles competitively for many years and now rides his bike daily. He loves to go fishing with his wife on a regular basis on the river, and hanging out with his kids.
