Dr. Ponte began serving the medical needs of Brevard in August, 2012. He graduated with his medical degree in 2002 from the Catholic University of Santiago School of Medicine in Guayaquil, Ecuador. His residency in Internal Medicine was completed at the University of Illinois at Chicago-Advocate Christ and his fellowship in Endocrinology was completed at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Ponte is board-certified in Internal Medicine, board-eligible in Endocrinology, and is a certified clinician in bone densitometry. He has an extensive list of publications, abstracts, and presentations that demonstrate his passion and knowledge regarding disease states of the endocrine system. He has been recognized for his excellence and outstanding contributions in Diabetes research by the University of Miami.
Dr. Ponte enjoys soccer, snowboarding, surfing, fishing, and running and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
