Dr. Thomas to Represent MIMA Sports Medicine in Taiwan
Dr. Bruce Thomas has been selected by Major League Baseball to serve as a venue physician for the 2013 World Baseball Classic (WBC). He will travel to Taipei City, Taiwan November 13-18 and cover the Asia Qualifying Round of the WBC.
Thomas served in a similar capacity in both the inaugural World Baseball Classic in Tokyo, Japan in 2006, and again in Tokyo in 2009. Venue physicians oversee and treat any injuries incurred during WBC play by players under contract with Major League Baseball franchises, and assist the countries’ team physicians as needed.
Dr. Thomas serves as Spring Training Team Physician and Senior Medical Consultant to the Washington Nationals, and to their minor league affiliates on the Space Coast. MIMA Sports Medicine also provides care for the Brevard County Manatees, a Milwaukee Brewers minor league affiliate.
