WHAT IS HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY?
Hematology focuses on the causes and treatment of blood disorders such as leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell disease and myeloma. Oncology concentrates on any cancer that may develop inside or outside the body. These include cancers of the breast, lung, colon, prostate, brain, bone or skin, just to mention a few. Since most cancers are tied in some way to blood disorders, hematology and oncology are inseparable medical specialties and these physicians are trained accordingly.

HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY AT MIMA
MIMA’s five hematology/oncology specialists are board-certified in internal medicine as well as their medical subspecialties. Robert Seelman, M.D. is one of MIMA’s founding fathers. Joseph McClure, M.D. is MIMA’s Chief Executive Officer and Board Chairman. Kenneth Graff, M.D., Lee Scheinbart, M.D., and James Neel, M.D. all joined MIMA upon completion of their medical fellowships.
