WHAT IS GENERAL SURGERY?

GENERAL SURGERY AT MIMA
All four MIMA general surgeons are board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Fusco is also certified in Surgical Critical Care. Joseph Gurri, M.D. is MIMA’s Chief Operating Officer. Mark Fusco, M.D is a member of the MIMA board of directors, and Clifford Thompson, M.D. is a member of the MIMA executive committee. Dr. Gurri specializes in endocrine surgery. Dr. Thompson provides a broad spectrum of general surgery services including pediatric surgery. Dr. Fusco specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgery including laparoscopic colectomy, anti-reflux surgery, and obesity surgery (LAP-BAND).
